System Requirements
Hardware and software prerequisites for running Ocsidian.
Ocsidian runs alongside Unreal Engine on your local machine. The AI processing happens in the cloud, so your internet connection matters more than your GPU for generation speed — but you still need a capable machine for Unreal Engine rendering.

Software prerequisites
- Unreal Engine 5.4+ — installed via the Epic Games Launcher
- Visual Studio 2022 or Xcode 15+ (for C++ compilation)
- .NET 8 SDK — required for some build tools
Note
Ocsidian detects your Unreal Engine installation automatically. If you have multiple versions installed, you can select which one to use in Settings → Engine.
